Serves as Communications Section Chief responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of communications systems supporting a battalion headquarters; Operates and maintains SINCGARS, JCR, Blue Force Tracker, and satellite communications systems; Manages COMSEC material including keying devices, fill equipment, and classified communications equipment in accordance with AR 380-40; Installs and configures voice and data communications networks for tactical command post operations; Trains subordinate operators on communications systems, COMSEC procedures, and PACE planning; Troubleshoots and repairs communications equipment to maintain continuous support to battalion command and control operations

Serves as Battalion S6 NCOIC responsible for all communications and information systems operations supporting a battalion-sized element; Supervises communications section personnel in the operation and maintenance of voice, data, and satellite communications systems; Manages battalion COMSEC program including key management, equipment accountability, and security violations reporting; Directs the establishment and operation of tactical command post communications architecture during field training and operational deployments; Coordinates with brigade S6 for network support, system upgrades, and communications troubleshooting; Advises the battalion S6 officer and commander on all communications readiness, network operations, and information systems matters

Serves as Radio Operator responsible for the operation and maintenance of assigned communications systems in support of unit operations; Operates SINCGARS, Harris radios, and satellite communications systems maintaining continuous communications with higher, lower, and adjacent units; Manages assigned COMSEC material in accordance with AR 380-40 and unit COMSEC SOPs; Installs and configures radio networks and antennas to optimize communications range and reliability; Maintains assigned communications equipment and performs operator-level maintenance to ensure system readiness; Trains subordinate operators on radio procedures, COMSEC operations, and PACE planning
