68E Dental Specialist NCOER Duty Description Examples

Serves as Dental Assistant providing chairside support and dental clinic operations at a military dental treatment facility; Provides chairside assistance to dentists during examinations, restorations, extractions, and other dental procedures; Exposes and processes dental radiographs in accordance with radiation safety standards; Manages instrument sterilization, tray setup, and clinical supply inventory; Maintains accurate patient records and ensures timely documentation of all dental care; Advises the clinic supervisor on patient care requirements and clinical support needs

Serves as Dental Clinic NCOIC responsible for all dental operations at a military dental treatment facility; Supervises dental assistants in the execution of chairside support, radiology, and sterilization operations; Manages clinic scheduling, supply inventory, and equipment maintenance program; Directs dental readiness tracking and coordinates readiness interventions for at-risk Soldiers; Coordinates with the dental officer on patient care priorities and clinic operations; Advises the facility commander on dental readiness status and clinic capabilities
